The Ministry of Management of Local Power has returned answers to northern Mitrovica over the request to join the Kosovo Commission Association, granting the request. Now, the decision is in the hands of AKK bodies.
The Express newspaper has secured the document MAPL has sent to North Mitrovica Mayor Erden Attic, where the demand reportedly agrees with the legislation in force.
“The Ministry of Management of Local Power, after reviewing the content of the municipality act as above, estimates that the municipality's act, is in line with the provisions of the legislation in force”, the document says.
The head of the Kosovo Communists Association, Saban Ibrahimi, said yesterday they have accepted the request of the North Mitrovica municipality and that the AKK's organs that will take the necessary actions for its review.
We accepted the request yesterday. Now, after accepting the request from the Northern Mitrovica municipality, which has been reviewed by MAPL, it is the AKK's organs that will take the necessary actions to review the municipality's demand in question. The Kosovo Communists Association will adhere to its statuteary provisions in order to take responsible action in terms of reviewing the Northern Mitrovica municipality's demand for membership in AKK”, Ibrahimi has declared.
By contrast, North Mitrovica, the Serb majority municipality, has launched procedures to join the Kosovo Communist Association a month ago.
Through a letter to the Association, Chairman Erden Attic has demanded that the municipality he heads become part of the AKK.
“as head of the Northern Mitrovica municipality, it was announced that in order to protect and promote common municipal interests, based on Article 31 and 32 of the Law for Local Government, in co-operation with the Northern Mitrovica Municipal Assembly, we have launched procedures for membership of the Northern Mitrovica municipality in the Kosovo Commission Association”, said in the letter.
His example has said that he too will soon follow him.
