The Environment Protection and Protection Association in Kline has protested the construction of the cement factory in the village of Dolc, Kline, reports Economy Online. According to organisers, residents of Kline and surrounding villages have strongly opposed the idea of building this factory for the fact that this construction would destroy the environment, the resources of [...]
Veton Raraci, chairman of the protest organisational council, said that although the mayor of the municipality has promised them that the factory will not be built, behind their backs has made a decision on granting permission. Rarac claims that the comments of residents in public hearings have been forged and as such used to equip themselves with documentation.
He made it known that he met and received the support of Gazmend Muharnier, head of the Peja municipality and Ekrem Kastrati, chairman of the Malisheva municipality, as well as is awaiting meeting with the mayors of the Gjakova, Istog and Scikyright municipalities.
He even said they have expressed concern that pollution could reach their municipalities.
Dear mothers and fathers, sisters and brothers, our destination today is between the two squares, the one at Muje Krasniqi and the Kollesh. It's a symbol that these two men make watch on our Kline on both sides. Both these great men fought to the sacrifice, so that we today can live free and enjoy life in the ancestors ' lands. We will honor their work and contribution as they are told to water-bread bread, and their greatest honor is JEHOVAH. IN OUR COUNTRY. If it was patriotism yesterday to fight for the liberation of our country, today we rightly say patriotism is to keep our country from pollution and to preserve the health of our parents and children”.
Two words about the leadership that Kline (I would not say but did not receive a reason from their attempt to prevent this protest). It's hard to think and much harder to tell you that today, in 2023, 24 years after the liberation of Kosovo try to block free speech and the right to protest. The mayors of the municipality of Cline, apart from the high damage and severe torments inflicted on its inhabitants, today I also tried to prevent this peaceful protest from opposing the greatest postwar enemy, the destruction of the environment - the cement factory. As you can see today I'm on an improvised scene in a truck, the scene that came about in the last few moments because the scene which was planned to be deployed was not allowed by the municipal bodies of this undemocratic government. The chairman of the meetings with us told us that until there are residents against building the cement factory I won't let this factory build, let me not hear our objections, but unfortunately he became the middle of building this factory in our municipality. And today the citizen of Kline has understood this trick, so today we're here to raise our voices against the trick of the local rifle and the great coups of the state to the people of klinas”.
There's been four years we've been in an uneven battle, a battle that's against everyone but it's residents, and residents are more important than everyone else. We didn't go to build our houses at the cement factory, but the cement factory is going to be built on our homes, and because that's how we're going to live in our homes and the cement factory won't be built, that's the softest way to express our opposition to this evil that's threatening Kline with the fence. In these four years, we've knocked on every door and moved every stone so that the idea of building the cement factory in Kline is not to live at”.
“They are not able to inform us of public hearings, sometimes by organizing them in the perifkeric villages of Klina and now by not publishing public hearing reports, all of this so that we do not have the opportunity to oppose this factory, but we have been vigilant and presented at these public hearings and have expressed our objections. And when they saw that they couldn't get away from us, then they tried to forge these public hearings, with these counterfeits they managed to equip themselves with documentation by distorting the will of the residents, but neither did it work because we got these violations and rejected them through complaints and denounations to the relevant organs through the raising of the voice in protest”.
“As a result of these protests, the following year the decision to suspend all permits was issued until the completion of the judicial process between the MPL and the Kline municipality was completed. Today, even though this decision to suspend permits is still not enough because suspension is not enough, we want this dark cloud that the day threatens our beautiful Kline to be removed once and for all. Our voice has been strongly echoed in every corner of Kosovo and beyond Kosovo, we have built the ace in our battle, so I proudly say that now in support of our cause there are over 10 civil society organisations from all parts of Kosovo which, together with their membership, are present in this protest, we have met and received support from the heads of the municipalities around Kline, such as the Chairman of the Pec, Istog and Malisheva municipality, we have the support of independent media and powerful support of the desired environments even outside the borders of Kosovo1x>
Living in Clenna means feeling Kosovo's snail, as a place of geographic location where rivers and provinces unite, cultures, customs and traditions, Kline is on a growing knot like a city of life. The climate in its developmental course has faced modern problems and challenges, but it has succeeded in resisting, despite the challenges of the human and natural world, Kline has continued to be made of work and hope! Today Kline has faced herself with a very serious problem: The building of the Chimento Fabric, which is being brought over as a black cloud, but this vital idea”.
Zeqir Wessel, professor of UP, from this municipality to the impossible to attend, has read one of the organizers.
“may be able to work and not damage the environment. There are plans on paper from international institutions, and our diaspora can take up plans and invest in Kline. The clan can become one of the main points of attraction in Kosovo”, this was a part of Professor Wessel's speech.
Exzanne Shala of civil society asked why we should deliberately pollute the air and that they are not looking for more than normal life.
This protest is supported by 10 civil society organizations: EcoZ, Let's Do Kosova, Let's Do It Peja. The Eye of Vision, Active Citizens, Zana, ECOTHINK, DEVA, the Organization for Environmental Protection, Rich and Termokiss.
