This communiqué says that NATO supports the EU-led dialogue and other efforts aimed at normalising the reports between Kosovo and Serbia and have called for the parties to take advantage of the moment and engage in trust towards achieving a sustainable political solution.
In addition to this NATO communiqué, it is called for Kosovo and Serbia to break the situation immediately and engage constructively in implementing the Pristina-Belgrade report normalisation agreement that has been reached in Brussels and Ohrid, Express reports.
The situation in the northern Republic of Kosovo has also been mentioned in this communique. NATO says it remains committed to continued engagement in Kosovo, including KFOR.
“KFOR will continue to provide a safe and secure environment and freedom of movement in Kosovo in line with UN KS Resolution 1244, said the communiqué.
In addition, they say that recent escalating actions in the country's north are unacceptable and have condemned violence in northern Kosovo, as well as unprotested attacks that caused injuries to NATO soldiers.
NATO has indicated that the presence of KFOR troops has increased as a result of repeated tensions and say any changes in the presence of troops will be made on the basis of the situation and not based on the calendar.
