Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama has declined to comment on Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti's statements, who said he has asked the head of the Albanian government to hold the two governments' joint meeting on July 6th, when Rama will be in Pristina under the tour that will develop in the Balkans. Otherwise Kurti said he would not accept further meetings with Rama.
During a statement to the media following the government's meeting, Rama said he would speak on the issue when he is in Pristina.
I don't have anything to do with this. I'm just here for this student decision. As far as going to Pristina and all tours will speak when it is time to talk that it is tomorrow in Pristina”, Rama said.
At a conference with reporters, Kurti indicated that he considers the joint meeting for signing the agreements to be cut in half after the 2 governments' meeting on June 14th, rather than other meetings.
I am in direct contact with Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama. I know he will come on a visit to Pristina under the Balkan tour. I am friendly with her that since she's coming to hold the meeting of the 2 governments that were badly canceled, although she was scheduled for June 14th in Gjakova. Thirteen deals would have to be signed that were already in the drawer.
In order for these agreements to be signed, I have proposed to Prime Minister Rama that, since it is coming this week, let us hold a joint meeting of our two governments to sign those agreed agreements that are in the drawer and toy apply an hour ago.
The Berlin process is very important and there are no leaders in the Balkans as Kosovo Prime Minister who has supported the Berlin Process. If Prime Minister Edi Rama insists on canceling the gathering of two governments, I remain at the position I gave him that for the meeting we both have direct contact, we meet very often.
It is not the Kosovo-Albania report, but democracy and peace and security in the Balkans why Kosovo's prime minister does not meet with that of Albania. But because the meetings of our two governments have been cancelled without reason. I consider it reasonable to be a joint meeting of the two governments, but not other” meetings, Kurti said.
