He said he expects Kosovo to take other steps as well, until he said it will continue in the dialogue facilitated by the Union.
“I welcome Kosovo's pledge to the agreement we reached in the first steps for enlargement. We expect Kosovo to take further positive steps and continue to progress in this direction. We will continue to work with the parties in the EU facilitated dialogue with Miroslav Lajcak”, Borrell wrote.
The Kosovo government yesterday announced that Deputy Prime Minister Besnik Bislimi at the meeting in Bratislava with emissar Miroslav Lajcak have agreed on these four points:
• The Kosovo government publicly shows its readiness to contribute to the situation's despass and non-take of actions that could be launched in the country's north. This includes a recent reduction in the size of 25% police presence in the community and around municipal officials.
• Kosovo police, together with EULEX and KFOR, will, according to the need, appreciate the security situation, in particular, look at the possibility to reduce the presence of police and around municipal entities.
• The Kosovo government has a public statement on whether to hold early elections in the four municipalities in the country's north, and in the wake of the situation. Kosovo expresses dedication to ensuring the legal basis needed to organise these elections.
• The EU will invite the two chief negotiators in Brussels with the aim of finalising the presumption plan for the agreement towards normalisation, after which implementation of all provisions of the agreement will begin.
The government said the measures cited would be finalised within a two-week period.
