OVL-KLA Chairman Faton Klinku's taskman, has declared that things have been cut off with the current government. “Now we are in Constitutional”, he said.
Klink has declared that the veterans' dialogue with the government has ended until the Constitutional Court's decision concerning the minimum wage is reversed.
“There is no dialogue with the government until the Constitutional Court makes the decision”, Klink said, for RTV Dukagini.
According to him, things have gone backwards since the current government in power has come.
Among other things, Klinaku over the struggle of veterans with the government for the minimum wage has stressed that war-launched organisations are legal categories and changes in laws related to them cannot be changed without advance consultation.
We are a legal category, we can make changes without us. They didn't want to cooperate with us, war-free organizations, they can't make changes without our compliance, we represent these” categories, Klinaku follows.
According to him, this government has not made the categories of veterans and until then the law that has been in force for veterans must be implemented, and according to him is the current government in power.
This is a long theme. We protested last year. We held two protests. We had contacts with the government. The point is that from last year we have said that we will protest when hearings are held. We made a decision to wait for the Constitutional Court. We've had an appointment with the president, she knows where the violations are, we've clarified them. We have asked him not to decree the law, since the case has been passed to the Constitutional Court, then we are awaiting that decision”, Klink stressed.
He has said that the Court finds whether there are false veterans' lists or not and that this process is in verification.
Otherwise the Law for the minimum wage that was adopted in the Assembly has faced opposition from war veterans and the opposition to Kosovo.
The minimum wage law has met with fierce opposition from those who benefit from pension schemes for 1998-99 war veterans in Kosovo.
That's because this law doesn't envision the minimum wage bond with veterans' pension, as it has been in the past.
In particular, although the minimum wage is expected to rise to 264 euros, veterans will continue to receive pensions worth 170 euros, what is the minimum wage currently.
Regarding veterans, this law stresses that by the final classification of the Kosovo veteran government's list, with the Ministry's proposal responsible for finance, it decides on the extent of the amount of pensions defined by this law, depending on budgetary opportunities, cost of living and eventual inflation.
The official's name is “The draft law on changing and completing laws that define the amount of benefits at the height of the minimum wage, the procedures of the minimum wage assignment, and tax rates in the annual personal income”.
In principle, it provides for the minimum wage in Kosovo to reach the value of 264 euros gross for all employed, public and private sectors.
The minimum wage in Kosovo is currently 130 euros for workers under 35 and 170 euros for workers up to 65 years. /Dukagini/
