He said that the Western Balkans belong to Europe and that Italy's engagement is focused on the peace of the region, as long as he mentioned Italian soldiers who are in Kosovo within KFOR and those in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
We need less Russia, less China and more Europe in the Western Balkans. Speaking to Ukraine, we will naturally support its full membership, but at the same time we want full membership in the EU as well as for other Western Balkan countries. This is our commitment and I'm underlining this point. Italy is working hard for the stability of the region, Italian soldiers are working in Bosnia and Herzegovina, working close to the border of Serbia and Kosovo. They're working on peace”.
Tayan said that except that the region belongs to Europe, stability is also important to fight together illegal migration.
Why do we want stability? Because the Western Balkans is Europe, but the reason is illegal migration. There are two corridors, Mediterranean corridors and that of the Western Balkans. We need to work together against traffickers”.
Taani said Italy cannot fight it alone against human and drug traffickers, but that it should become together as Europe.
