That's how the Kosovar Law Institute estimates.
Ramadan Makshana, senior researcher at this institute, at Info Magazine in Klan Kosova, gave some of the reasons why this could happen.
The new Prosecutorial Council is expected to have 19 members by 2026, with eight non-professional members added to the council. We both the IKD and Movement Foll have also considered that the new changes are contrary to the Strategy for Rule of Law, with the opinion of the Venice Commission, and with the Constitution of the Republic of Kosovo” itself, Maxhana said.
“The Strategy for Rule of Law in none of its principles had predicted the growth of council members, but had said the number of members prosecutors should be reduced. Likewise, if we look at the opinions of the Venice Commissions, one of them is said to be the number of members in the Prosecutorial Council should not increase, because this is a very costly” solution, he stressed.
This law was first declared unconstitutional.
The Kosovo government has made its completion and approved it on 12 July.
