According to Gerxhaliu, the diaspora's contribution is great, but Kosovo is not doing enough for them.
According to him, tools invested by the diaspora should be directed to generate new jobs, improve the balance of payments, transfer of technology and an advanced education.
Gerxhaliu added that the diaspora assists Kosovo in various ways and that within a calendar year it sends aid as much as is the approved budget of the Republic of Kosovo. He also demanded that the diaspora not be politicised because it is being undermined to come to Kosovo.
The core of normal functioning of the Republic of Kosovo. The diaspora contribution should be measured in certain dimensions, not only in the economic aspect, but also in the political, geostrategic integration of culture and social. In that direction, I believe the fact that in 2022, Kosovo has officially sent more than 1 billion and 220m euros to Kosovo is the first indicator. In the second row, we disagree that the diaspora only sends that much money, the diaspora sends in three forms of tools and aid to Kosovo”.
“in direct form through financial sessions, indirectly when it stays in Kosovo as it is now when they spend between 5,000-18000 euros during stay and third is it through pockets and other individuals. Therefore, freely it can be said that Kosovo's diaspora one calendar year sends aid as much as is the approved budget of the Republic of Kosovo and what Kosovo does and what Kosovo does cannot thank for the contribution given, but what should worry us is that always that diaspora assistance goes into consumption, we need these tools that are reorient in creating new jobs, in improving the balance of payments, in transfer of technology, in an advanced education based on proof of the diaspora and in the end of the fact that Kosovo is the best ambassador to Kosovo, he said to the entire EUSI.
“I believe that the pure sweat of the diaspora through the remittances that lead to Kosovo should be a foundation of building and strengthening the state of Kosovo towards the future, so in this respect the fact that we are growing imports and being guided into consumption is a sin that doesn't deserve the diaspora in the second order I believe is the time when the Kosovo government should have a special package to stimulate diaspora investments in different fields and it shouldn't make Kosovo't make the mistake until it's done by now to treat foreign investments in this direction, so I know that Kosovo's government must have a very good deal with treatment and that it may not become more of the more of a policy policy policy, and that it's going to be so far too much different.
