“The house is on fire”, this is the famous sentence of the American Ambassador to Kosovo, Jeffrey Havenier, who had described the situation in Kosovo after the start of the country's northern tensions about a month ago.
Houvenier's alarm also preceded the consequences the US communicated to Kosovo, such as the exception from the largest international exercise “Defeder Europe 2023”.
We think this is a very urgent matter. The comparison I got is that of a burning house. So I think the fire should be removed first. We expect the Government to take action now”, the most important American in Kosovo said.
A European blow Kosovo took Friday 28 June, where the government was announced to be under EU sanctions.
Union announced that among the punitive measures Kosovo will face are mainly economic and political.
These measures include “the integration of troops created under the Stabilisation and Association Agreement, Kosovo's failure to meet at the summit, and the suspension of bilateral visits, halting the Kosovo funding programme from IPA 2017, and suspending proposals submitted by Kosovo under the framework of Western Balkans investments.
Kosovo also has remained outside the Digital European Programme worth 7.6 billion euros, where all other Western Balkan states will be assisted by the EU on the issue.
Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti has called the punishment measures of the European Union <x0 unfair” and has said he hopes they will be short, since “Kosovo is a country that needs support in its development”.
Prime Minister Kurti has added that “will continue with the implementation of the government programme”.
Whatever it is, we do our job, but let's not forget that we can't compromise either the rule of law or the constitutionality of our country, so we will continue with the implementation of our government programme”, Kurti declared on Sunday.
Although “The house is on fire”, Prime Minister Albin Kurti is engaged in several infrastructure activities, mostly two and five miles.
Two days ago, Kurti announced that the government is funding continued expansion of a Gjilan-Buyanovac road. Kurti has announced about 532 thousand of his Facebook followers that this road is 2.7km long, costing over three million euros.
“Gjilan-Buyanovc Street is continuing to expand its exit from the city of Gjilan to the 2.7km-long Bujanovac, four lanes, with sidewalks ranging from 2m on both sides.
The road has complete underground infrastructure: cable, fecal and atmosphere channeling, middle lighting and signaling. The contract is expected to be finalised by the end of September, and its value is over 3m euros”, Kurti wrote on Facebook.
The prime minister has even started Monday on Monday, inspecting the start of Pristina-Podujevo road works.
Journalist Vehbi Kajtazi in a Facebook post, has said that historically it has occurred since Western countries put sanskion on dictators, they talk about their country's development projects.
And it happens that when the West imposes dictatorial sanctions on dictators, they talk about developing projects in their country. New roads, employment, military investment, etc. This dictator of ours, is doing the same. One day after the EU expelled Kosovo from a 2.5 billion-euro grant, the dictator said it was setting a two-and-a-half-mile route connecting Gjilan with Bujancin”, wrote Caitazi on his Facebook.
If you're really doing Albin Kurt the same thing, Periscop doesn't want to prejudge./Periscopi/
