Gabriel Escobar, an emissary of the United States for the Western Balkans, will report Tuesday to the US Congress on the responsibilities with which he is charged.
These responsibilities include Kosovo, where there have been tensions in recent months. He has already sent a document to Congress on developments and prospects ahead.
It is expected to have the need to implement the Road to Normalisation Agreement, which includes the obligation to establish the Association of Serb-run municipalities.
Also included is the establishment of the Serb-run municipality Association.
The key”Enament is the fulfillment of Kosovo's obligation to establish the majority Serbian Communist Association in 2013. The AKS would empower municipalities with common interests, languages and culture to co-ordinate common challenges in providing some public services, including education, health care and local economic development. Furthermore, Kosovo and Serbia agreed to mutually recognise national documents and symbols”, it says in the document he is expected to present to congressers”.
The document showing these details is published by avaz.
Among other things, the Ohrid Agreement and the possibility of implementing that agreement are cited.
” Since the parties reached these agreements, there have been serious provocations, escalating tensions and violence unacceptable by Serb protesters KFOR, police and journalists in northern Kosovo. In response, NATO established elements of the reserve forces to reinforce the mission; it takes an extended position in northern Kosovo to ensure a safe and secure environment in line with its UN mandate”, it says, among other things.
