The European Union's representative for dialogue is accused of favouring Serbia in the latest crisis, while only Pristina is being held responsible.
The fact that it comes from a state like Slovakia, which does not recognise Kosovo's independence, is also being raised as a concern.
Dutch Eurodeput, Thijs Reuten, from the labist party, said in an interview for Euronews Albania that the EU is not responding adequately to President Alexander Vuciq's Ottoman stance regarding Kosovo for 10 years.
According to him, Vuciq is an Ottoman politician, and he has witnessed it not only with access to Kosovo, but also with the policy that follows within his own country, which, as he said, is democracy only on paper.
“We have been very critical of the EU and Lajcak's overall approach, what the EU is failing to do is to see what happened at the end of May in the north. We are dealing for more than a decade with an Ottoman president in Serbia who is playing with internationals. The EU is not reacting in the right manner to this” stance, the eurodeputet said.
