The former director who banned her from entering school with a headscarf in Suhareka

Liman Bytyci, former director of lower elementary school “Arberi's faluri”, has sat at the dock of indictees to confront the prosecution's indictment weighing on him.

Bytyci is being charged with criminal work, violation of equal status of citizens and residents of the Republic of Kosovo.

According to the prosecution in August 2022, the defendant had decided that math teacher Remize Lezi To '%s' prevented the exercise of office, and that toʹia denied signing on the list of educators present.

Although for many years the teacher was unable to enter school when she decided to wear the headscarf.

In the face of this charge, the director Bytyci was acquitted.

“I do not accept guilt, since the indictment is unsubstantiated”- he said.

Muhamet Mujaj, a lawyer representing the Lezi teacher, has claimed to stand behind prosecution and with a wealth of legal demand.

After that, the tribunal has instructed the accused to submit in the 30-day term for impeaching the indictment and rejecting evidence.

According to the indictment of August 30, 2022, in the village of Reshtan, the Suhareka municipality, at lower elementary school “The defendant's flag in the quality of the official person, by misusing his position or authorisations, or restricts her right to free expression of her identity or to enjoy her religious autonomy of the injury, Remzie Lezi.

The indictment says that after being damaged, he had placed religious cover and was first covered in school where he worked as a math teacher, the defendant as the school principal forbids access to the facility.

The prosecution says that even despite the ban, it went to school and stayed there as long as it was intended to stay, but was not allowed to sign the list of duty presence, nor the union list since they were on strike.

The defendant's critical day offers the damage to the school board's decision, No.31 date 29 August 2022, on which the teacher's occupation at school is not allowed, and after that, the same decision does not go to school two days, but after hearing in the news the mayor of the Suhareka municipality, that decision is invalid to go to school tomorrow, but the defendant again asks him to leave and also denies the signing right to the list of teachers present at school.

According to the prosecution, the defendant is accused of committing criminal acts, violating the equal status of the states and residents of the Republic of Kosovo.
