Denmark Doubts for Kosovo Handball Judges

Danish media, TV2, has published a writing presenting doubts about the plot of handball matches directed by Kosovo referees Arsim and Erduan Vitaku. The Vitaku duo has been running European matches for many years, including high-level matches.

This medium has initially cited allegations of former GOG team coach Nicolae Krickau, for setting up a match with Cadetten Schaffhausen in 2020. That match was investigated for the plot, while Kricka had criticised the presentation of the Vitaku referees.

The EHF had investigated the match, but hadn't found anything suspicious. Kosovo's double of judges had since returned to the European stage. According to the Danish media, Kosovo judges have led several suspicious matches. This has been made known in the context of the second episode of the documentary <x0 suspicious versions”, which has to do with the allegations of a frame in handball.

It was written for a match of qualifications for “Europa 2024” between Holland and Belgium and a match of the Handball Champions' League between Castamon and Metz.

According to the Danish medium, the judge's duo was in the “blacklist” of some bookies. Every time they were delegated, the alarm was on.

Danish media have written that Erdoan Vitaku's Arsim in January this year has led the match of the Handball Champions League between Norwegian Vipers and Hungary's Riley Cargo. Since then, they have not conducted European matches.

The EHF has not answered questions whether their unwillingness has anything to do with the plot allegations.

“TV 2 has contacted the two judges. They refuse to be involved in the plot. Arsim Vitaku has also said he does not know why he and his partner, Erdoan Vitaku, have not referred since January. According to him, he wasn't in contact with the EHF at”, wrote TV 2.

There have been doubts about the plot in Kosovo handball. Even a judge was convicted by the FHK after trying to set up a match in favour of a team he's close to.

Meanwhile, there are numerous suspicions of football and basketball setting. Finally, basketball referee Daut Mehmeti and coach Arbnor Rifat have been arrested as suspected of hatching. After 48 hours in maintenance, they have been assigned house arrest measures for a month. In football, media in France have mentioned Llap for involvement in matchmaking. Meanwhile, in Kosovo football, many teams are suspected of setting up and dealing unlegally.

Erduan Vitaku's education is valued by the best handball judges in the country. Their name has also been mentioned in the past by Danish media. But they had flatly denied involvement and had continued to conduct matches in Europe.
