Former head of the Central Election Commission, Valdete Daka, has indicated there are two ways municipalities go to early elections.
She said one way is for 50 per cent of the respective municipality voters to sign a petition requiring the mayor's dismissal.
The second way, which is easier, is for the mayors to resign voluntarily.
“Södi has ever happened, in the law on local self-rule, the possibility is that 20% of voters who are on the voter list through petition demand the mayor's resignation, actually 50% of all voters. The other way is to resign”, she said, on RTV Dukagujini.
