In a response to Radio Free Europe, KFOR has confirmed that the Hungarian soldier has been amputated, adding that all wounded soldiers “have returned to their homes”.
In addition to 19 Hungarian soldiers, 11 Italian soldiers were injured that day in the municipality of Zvecan.
Three of Hungary's soldiers were wounded with firearms.
Serbs in Kosovo's four northern municipalities have been protesting since May 26th, rejecting young Albanian mayors of municipalities in the north.
After increasing tensions in northern Kosovo, NATO has engaged 700 additional troops in Kosovo, except for 4,000 troops that are already deployed in Kosovo. / REL
