Using technology seems to have become a necessity for each of us regardless of our age.
A young mother has sparked debate on the Internet, admitting she allows her daughter two and a half years old to use iPad for several hours a day.
At a forum dedicated to mothers, she sought the opinion of other mothers, explaining what this is exactly what has helped her daughter to know more than her peers.
My daughter spends almost two and a half years on the iPad every day for hours. She already knows most of the alphabet, she can count to six objects, three colors in Spanish. She can also write her first letter of what she wants on the Internet. My daughter also spends a lot of time abroad and so much activity with us and her parents. So we're not terrible parents. I don't believe” my mother writes in her post at the forum.
This post has received numerous comments by dividing them into two groups. Many of the mothers at the forum said that they saw no problem as long as the girl in question used technology to learn.
On the other hand, a considerable portion of them condemned this choice of mother. They expressed how the information that the girl was receiving from the Internet was of little greater value if compared with the potential injuries the girl might have in her future mental health. Many also felt that there was no need for a child at that age to know all that information. Nor did those who viewed the use of iPad as a lazy form of parenting.
At the same time, there were no members of the forum who decided to help their mother with advice on how she could reduce the use of technology for her daughter by saying that they themselves were in a similar situation.
