The BENZ and Volkswagen Marks are the most present on Albania's streets. Benz was the first favourite after the years of dealt with the ʹ90s due to the strength suitable for the ruined roads, and then Volkswagen was preferred as an economic vehicle, but other varied brands entered.
According to INSTAT, a total of 116.204 Mercedes Benz autovetures were circulated in the country, with 18.17% of total autovetures. However, this brand appears to be dropping from “to”, as small and economic vehicles become popular.
By the end of 2022, there were 115,064 Volkswagen - style autoves, at 18% of total, rapidly approaching BENZ. The other INSTAT data even revealed that in the first quarter of this year Marka “Volkswagen” is the highest turnover mark in the country in the category of new road vehicles by 20.4%, followed by brand ““Mercedes Benz” with 16,3%.
The third favorite mark is DAIMLER CHRYSLER (10.4%) followed by Ford (9.6%), Opel (5.2%), Audi (5.8%), Fiat (3.9%); Toyota (4.6%), BMW (3.4%); Renault (3.4%).
INSTAT's data revealed that in 2022 there were a total of 639,379 autovetures in the country, which made up 80.3% of the total vehicle total 796.438 tools with full status “ ” and “temporarily deregistered”). The rest consists of “Automnets for mixed transport” (65%) and “Motor” (5),4%).

In 2022, brand “Mercedes Benz” is registered as the most used brand of autovetures registered year by year before 2000 and 2011-22. Marka “Volkswagen” is registered as the most popular autovestation brand 2000-2010.
Durres heads for high number of vehicles
In 2022 the number of passenger autoves per 1,000 residents in Durres district is 301, followed by Lezha County with 287 autovetures per 1,000 inhabitants. The district, with the lowest number of passenger autoves per 1,000 inhabitants, is Korcha County, with 165 autovements per 1,000 inhabitants.
61% of cars are manuals
Carves with camouflage “Manuale” occupy the bulk (60.8%) of total autovettures resulting from active status “” or “temporarily unregistered” in 2022.
74% of cars are oily
