Private Sector Workers Union Chairman Yusuf Azemi has told Online Economy that over 80% of companies lack workers.
Azem stressed that from 2021, over 100,000 workers have fled Kosovo. He also said that by the end of the year, there will be “concentration” of evacuations, as young people will expect liberalisation to be spared from visa applications at embassies.
This exit, according to him, is mostly affecting businesses, particularly worrying about the declining number of qualified workers.
Large and small companies today have problems; over 80% of companies lack workers. We're talking about workers of different profiles because wing workers still find themselves, though not in a desirable number. But the number of qualified workers is dropping in Kosovo”.
The private sector's chief union said the minimum wage for this year should be 450 euros, while for next year's 500.
According to him, wages in the private sector have even increased, but not for workers who perform services in public institutions and work for private companies.
There is actually a salary increase in the private sector where there is no state touch. You know that a great deal of private sector workers perform services in state institutions and where we perform services in state-owned institutions the wages are almost miserable, we have a salary of 170 euros and up to an average of 300 euros”.
The “is actually the largest pay, where there is no touch of state, is especially in the builder, the salary in which, although we have positive movement, but it's not nearly that of goodwill”, he said.
Azemi expresses disappointment with his failure to support the institutions, saying they are neglected, EO reports.
The “actually means Kosovo private sector workers have been and are in a storm that we're saying nobody handles this issue. Only when the election days come with us that I think Kosovo private sector workers are already fed up with advertising are they fed up with claims that we will do this or that”.
