This is confirmed by the general audience Vlora Spanca, adding to the payment value is over 700 euros annually.
“We have outlined an issue that follows the Government of Kosovo, is that of payment to employees who do not do the job. This is as a result of the Brussels Agreement and a Government decision that was signed in 2015 for the integration of former Civil Protection into public institutions. Their number is 149 and the value is about 700 thousand euros a year”, Spanca has confirmed.
According to her, these payments have already stopped.
I can say that there are improvements here in this respect, where the Ministry of Education and Economics have chosen this problem, offering the conditions and employees started working, while the Ministry of Culture received the report, in June or July of last year, has stopped payments”, she added.
Two weeks earlier, the Government of Kosovo had made a decision to announce terrorist organisations to Serbian Civil Protection and the Northern Brigade, which operate in the northern part of the country.
These two organisations are allegedly responsible for many crimes committed in northern Kosovo. That's exactly what the gun arsenal was supposed to be, which was seized a car in Zvecan a few days ago.
Civil protection in Serbia functions within the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Their announcement as terrorist organisations comes at a time when tensions in northern Kosovo mostly inhabited by Serbs have increased.
Local Serbs are opposing the new Albanian mayors of Zvecan, Zubin Potok and Leposaviqi, who were elected 23 April. These votes were boycotted by the Serb population.
Since May 26th, Serbs have protested in the north, and since then several attacks with shock bombs and hand grenades have been recorded, which have caused material damage, but without consequences in people.
