Analyst: Opposition consensus lack followed by numbers

Although they have been expressing disappointments against Kurti Government for months, the parliamentary opposition has no consensus on its actions. Political analysts say the lack of opposition consensus is the result of numbers they have in the Assembly, which made it difficult to realise successfully a no-confidence motion against the Government. As a consequence of the created situation, apart from tensions in northern Kosovo, international sanctions -- and recently even the frustrations expressed by veterans for not including the Law for the minimum wage -- have increased opposition voices about the collapse of the Government. Despite this, despite disappointments, the parliamentary opposition does not have a consensus on their actions to bring down Kurti Government.
The smaller opposition party, the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo, has been demanding a no-confidence motion against the government for weeks, while the Democratic Party is seeking the distribution of the Assembly, so that the country can go to new elections.
Politologist Arta Tahiri-Beqa tells Radio Kosovo that individual opposition actions and the lack of a consensus are the result of numbers they have in the Assembly.
“Opposition parties cannot all be done together, knowing they do not have the number of votes to make the collapse of this government, despite their continued discontent. So, they don't get together to take a move, as they know the outcome will be unattainable and they don't want to be the political subject that becomes the factor for the realisation of this government's”, she said.
While, according to political analyst Artan Mujariri, the opposition, with a lack of consensus and sluggish actions, is increasing Prime Minister Kurti's population.
“Oposi is showing there is no idea how to fight Prime Minister Kurti, though he disagrees. For this reason Kurti's population is growing even in this situation, while support for the opposition is continuing to decline, which reassures the prime minister that even in the upcoming elections it will be uneasily, because his victory will be the maximum”, he said.
The Kosovo Assembly concludes tomorrow's spring session work, while connoisseurs and political circumstances in the country say that an eventual motion against Kurti government could be put forward after the holidays.
