Albania: Candidates for Ambassadors to Kosovo, Serbia Report to Parliamentary Commission

Petrit Malaj, the candidate for the extraordinary and powerful ambassador of the Republic of Albania in the Republic of Kosovo, introduced his vision commission members and purposes regarding the task he is running for.

Malaj said he feels the weight of greater responsibility in the face of this challenge, while underlining that this challenge will be met with honour.

I'm going to be representative of all of them in no way. Brotherly Relationship Albania -Kosovo will take it to another level. I will work to keep expert co-operation at the expert level ongoing to bring sustainable solutions to issues of common interest. Co-operation with Kosovo is vital. The Berlin process offered a good opportunity for Kosovo to be equal. I will be the catalyst for further development for co-operation in education, art and culture. Co-operation in the field of education includes joint research projects. Three important issues are co-operation for regional initiatives, integration and NATO co-operation. The importance is economic and economic co-operation, relations are on the rise. Among my intentions will be to promote relations”, Malaj said.

Asked by MPs for the tense situation with Serbia in northern Kosovo, but also the relationship with Albania, Malaj stressed it would do its best for joint decisions in behalf of two peoples.

Further, the Commission for Foreign Policy followed a hearing with Kyriako Cirko, candidate for extraordinary and almighty ambassador of the Republic of Albania in the Republic of Hungary.

Carko, during his speech, underlined that Hungary has been part of that group of states that has unconditionally supported the integration of our country and that it will make every effort to take advantage of Hungarian experience in terms of European integration.

“Inter-parliamentary co-operation has special significance. The creation of friendship groups is of great value. The exchange of direct visits and contacts of both countries' parliamentary commissions. Effective diplomacy should be in service of the economy as well. 54 Hungarian companies operate on the Albanian market. The presence of several Hungarian companies represents guarantees for other companies as well. The area of tourism is another direction where I will focus. Presenting the Albanian tourist bid and investing in tourism will be among my priority commitments. My goal will also be co-operation in education for the research centre”, said Crkko.

The latest hearing on the Foreign Policy Commission took place with Bardjel Canaj, candidate for the extraordinary and almighty ambassador of the Republic of Albania, in the Republic of Serbia.

Canaj, underlined, would commit to contributing to the progress of relations between the two countries, and in particular to avoiding problems.
