The Kosovo Journalists' association (AGK) is alarmed with the Association Commission's decision to reject Klan Kosova television complaint, thus ending the decision to suspend the media's business certificate.
According to them, with this decision, Minister Roseta Hajdari, who is part of the Kurti Government, has finalised all administrative actions needed to shut down the Kosovo Clan television.
“If the verdict can be appealed to the tribunal, this decision should be understood as the decision of the Vetevendosje Movement and Prime Minister Kurti to close a medium for the first time since the end of the war in Kosovo”, the AGK's reaction is said.
AGK, believes this process has been politically motivated from the start by the ruling party and Prime Minister Kurti's Government, in an effort to close down the biggest private television in the country. Today's decision by the ministry led by Minister Hajdari confirms the government's open and unprecedented fight against the media, as a warning that other media will be the target of the attacks.
The AGK, encourages Klan Kosovo to continue the battle in court and expresses confidence that the court will not allow the closure of a media medium in Kosovo.
Today's political decision by Kurti government is the worst blow to media freedom in Kosovo since the war.
