War Crimes Suspect Against Civil Population Arrested in Gracanica

Kosovo Police, the Directorate for Investigation of War Crimes (DHKL), respectively, in co-operation and authorisation of the Special Prosecutor of the Republic of Kosovo, have conducted investigations concerning crimes committed during the war period in Kosovo (1998-1999), where through investigative-opperative routes it has accepted information about Kosovo's initial male Serb suspect (D. Police report that evidence has been provided to the same for the existence of reasonable suspicion that, in co-ordination with other members, during the Kosovo war period in qualities of official persons (the prison guard) in Pristina and in parallels divided by Pristina, namely, in Lipjan prison, they have allegedly exercised torture, physical violence, psychics, brutal abuses and extremely brutal and torture of life against Albanian prisoners.
“As a result of intensive Kosovo police work and investigations, dated 21.06.23, in the morning hours, the Gracanica area, has stopped and accompanied the suspect in question to the police.
The competent officials under the authority of the Special Prosecutor of the Republic of Kosovo and the order of the Special Department Pre-Departation Judge have applied control in the suspect's house, where, in quality of material evidence, they have been seized: A fire-revolved type “Zastawa” call.9m, 136 rounds of caliber 9x19m, military knife of the SoOG Speciality Knives, metal rod “Taiwan”, documents, decisions, nots and personal phone, etc.
In consultation with the competent prosecutor by the Special Prosecutor, the high-ranking suspect has been interviewed in the presence of a protected lawyer provided by the family, under suspicion that the same has been involved in the criminal conduct of war crimes against the civilian population.
