Defence Minister in Serbia Milos Vucevic has said of Serbian media medium Vecernje Novosti that his state will do everything “to protect the Serbian people in Kosovo”.

Regardless of how difficult the situation is, we will do everything to protect our people in Kosovo”, Vucevic told Serbian medium Vecernje Novosti.

He argued that the security situation in the country is “very complex” due to the situation in Kosovo.

“Kurti does what he tells the West, because independent Kosovo is a child of the West”, he added.

Otherwise, Vucevic was elected the new president of the Serbian Progressive Party last month.

It will follow in that position, the so-called president of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, who on Friday resigned from the post of party chairman at the rally held in Belgrade.

The decision to elect President Milos Vucevic was made at the SNS's extraordinary Assembly.

This is done with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic's proposal, in the extraordinary Serbian Progressive Party decision held in Kragujevc.
