How is the security situation being assessed in northern municipalities currently?
Svechla: The security situation in the country's north today has been more calm in contrast with other days where there were incidents and extremely violent actions by the fascist police led by Belgrade.
Currently today has been with fewer incidents from other days where there were incidents and extremely violent actions by the fascist police headed by Belgrade.
Today I was visiting several locations there and there was calmness, there was an extraordinary professionalism of the Kosovo Police, for which I thank them with all my heart, and everything was going on according to the PK's plans. It is now known that there were also protests but that the numbers were far smaller than usual in these last days and were quiet.
There have been attacks on the police, KFOR, but even the media, by criminal groups there. Have you come to identify these people?
Svechla: Yeah. Kosovo police, in co-operation with AKI as well as the Allied countries' services, have achieved that most of these criminals are identified. Let's not forget that a criminal situation has prevailed for 20 years and there are many criminal exhibits, who don't have it for the first time to attack either the police or the ordinary citizens or the media, this time even members of the KFOR Mission.
In this contingent we have reverified, to be more correct, the Kosovo Police and the AKI have restored it, and we are on a good track for most of these identifying offenders to locate and then to arrest Kosovo police.
You've even made a visit to Jasenovac today. What is the situation at this point where the police are staying?
Svechla: She's calm now. We have an irritability of the situation in Leposaviq hours ago, but it's all over without any major incident. Currently, we have a performance of the peripheral force, from time to time, of the fascist militia, but the Kosovo Police, with its readiness, with its will and professionalism, is dominate the situation, is controlling the terrain and I am convinced that the scenes of the last few days will no longer be able to repeat.
What kind of difficulties is the RK currently facing?
Svechla: Of course there are difficulties the Kosovo Police are facing. IN recent times we have worked extremely hard that in terms of support, in terms of equipment, and in organizational terms PK to rise to much higher levels than it has been, yet there is space to improve especially in using the latest technologies. But above all, what's important to me and them is the will of steel not to give up, not to give up the fulfillment of their purpose, which is to provide security, rule of law and fight these criminals until they stand trial.
