As a call to mass protest and march north is being circulated on social networks, police have invited citizens for calm and “leave security institutions, institutions of the Republic of Kosovo to deal with the situation professionally”.
We want to clarify that, after assessment by security institutions, many of these profiles are suspicious and that the posts may be intentional, to the detriment of the citizens and interests of the Republic of Kosovo”, it is said in the police response.

Kosovo police call on citizens to ignore calls for participation in protest
Pristina on June 01, 2023
Kosovo police are aware that, in various social media, by persons and profiles, there are circulated appeals to Albanian citizens, participating in the supposed mass protest, today at 12:00, in South Mitrovica, and with the intention of marching north of the country.
We want to explain that, after assessment by security institutions, it has proved that many of these profiles are suspicious and that posts can be intentional, to the detriment of the citizens and interests of the Republic of Kosovo.
Therefore, Kosovo police invite citizens to calm down and not fall prey to any alleged organisation by unknown persons, but to leave security institutions, the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo to deal with the situation with professionalism.
We guarantee citizens that Kosovo institutions in general -- and Kosovo Police in particular -- are fully capable and dedicated to ensuring security, order and calm for all citizens indiscriminately.
We highly appreciate the co-operation and support of the citizens of the Republic of Kosovo in maintaining peace and stability in the country.
