Secretary - General NATO, Jens Stoltenberg, has welcomed Turkey's decision to bring additional troops to Kosovo, under the NATO peacekeeping mission.

This during an address to the media, following his meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan at the Dolmabahce Palace in Istanbul.

He indicated he has held a very productive meeting with Erdogan, with members of his new government participating, stressing Turkey's importance and its contribution to NATO.

He noted the supply of Turkey's military units for the peacekeeping mission in Kosovo, stressing the great importance of this contribution at a time of escalation of tensions in the north.

Stoltenberg, further expressed his thanks to Turkey for sending troops, pointing to its other contributions to Iraq, Ukraine and other countries.
