But yesterday, in a long debate between judges, prosecutors and lawyers, the Specialised Prosecutor has faced a direct question: If they have a case when any witnesses who have appeared so far at the session against KLA leaders are afraid.
They've said short, no!
This was the discussion between Judge Charles Smith and a prosecutor:
Justice: Is there any case of any witness who has testified? I know that we have only three months to testify in this courtroom. Have you heard any case of any witness following the summoning after the testimony? Any tinkling.
Prosecutor: Who's scared?
Justice: Every time...
Prosecutor: No, I can't tell these individual issues.
Justice: I'm asking, do you have a chance?
Prosecutor: Not Your Honor, we don't.
The trial against Hashim Thaci, Kadri Veselini, Rexhep Selimi and Jakup Krasniqi has started on 3 April, and only 10 witnesses have been heard so far, and those almost overall in private sessions. This has raised heavy public criticism. The specialist has been criticised earlier for closing up in front of the defence public, as many of its evidence has been released. /Gazza10
