The value of the ruble has been lower only in March 2022 after Russia's war began in Ukraine - 87.2.
Rubla is not traded on weekends, and Monday was the first day Russian currency was traded, following the 24 June developments in Russia.
That day, Russian mercenaries from the Wagner group, led by Yevgeny Pigozhin, have headed from Ukraine to Russia and have won control of the southern town of Rostov-on-Don.
Prygozyn has declared he wants to oust Russian defence sector leaders from power.
As mercenaries were on their way to Moscow, Prygozy has been ordered to abort the operation.
Belarus has said it has brokered an agreement envisioning the departure of Prygozhin in Belarus and the return of Wagner mercenaries to their bases.
The Institute for War Studies, headquartered in Washington, has said Sunday that Wagner's rebellion against the Russian leadership has spread “dubet deep” of the Russian security system.
