Returning home are 15 KFOR soldiers who were injured by violent protests in Zvecan

Fifteen injured Italian soldiers, 11 of whom suffered injuries during the violent protest in Zvecan on May 29th, have returned home. KFOR has announced that in addition to the 11 Italian soldiers, who were injured in the unprotested attacks against KFOR units in Zvecan, another eight members of the Italian regional West Command contingent stationed in Pec, have referred to returning home with smaller injuries.
On Monday, 15 of the 19 Italian soldiers referred to have returned to Italy. They have been sent to Military Hospital “Celio” for further treatment. Others will be recovered at KFOR headquarters.
“The soldiers of the 9th regiment were injured while carrying out their duties, interfering between the parties, in full accordance with UN Security Council Resolution 1244. KFOR Commander Major General Angelo Michele Ristuccia has met Italian soldiers at Pristina airport, wishing them quick and full recovery”, KFOR reportedly.
“NATO, KFOR is fully focused on the daily implementation of the mandate stemming from the UN and on ensuring a necessary security framework for EU-led dialogue to move towards normalising relations between Belgrade and Pristina”.
