“Ukrainian is waiting for a clear signal about a clear prospect of NATO membership”, Duda said on June 12th after a meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz in Paris.
The trilateral meetings involving Germany, France and Poland, known as the Vajmar Triangle, began in 1991 in Vajmar, Germany.
Initially, the talks were intended to bring Poland and other Eastern European states closer to the European Union and NATO.
Germany, in April, has approved Poland's request to export five old MiG-29 fighter aircraft to strengthen Ukraine's air force against the Russian occupation.
German Defence Minister Boris Pistorius said the request had arrived Thursday and that the adoption of the application on the same day from Berlin shows that others can rely on Germany.
Germany inherited 24 MiG-29 aircraft from the former East German after its reunification in 1990. At that time, this type of aircraft was described as one of the world's most advanced warplanes.
In 2004, Berlin sent 22 such planes to Poland. Of the two remaining planes in the German Army, one was destroyed during a crash, and one is on exhibit in a museum.
Poland needs prior approval from official Berlin to send these planes to another location.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said during a visit to Warsaw that Poland would help form a coalition of Western powers to supply Ukraine with fighter aircraft.
