Kosovo Police Union Chairman Imer Zeqiri, in an interview, said the northern part is an open wound since the post-war, and always police there have been endangered.
But despite that, he stressed that despite the risk in that part of the country, no police officials have hesitated to go, according to him, show the will they have to protect the country.
And the risk is permanent because they intervene in any case, normal that even in such situations. In the north, there's an open wound from the back of the war, and every time the police presence there has been more at stake because in that part as we know, we have the actions of illegal people, various criminal gangs, and since the normal ones that are the biggest. Even when we're acting, we've seen that police were attacked there, the cars are burning. Even the self-injury of KFOR members, which was 30, shows how extreme and how dangerous police are in the northern part of the country”, he said.
“As far as the work and willingness of each police member, regardless of other conditions and well-being, they are doing the job with an extremely high motivation themselves. We haven't had a chance to hesitate to go to that part, that means the will to protect the country from the police I'm saying at each and every other is extremely high. That's why even the government should take into account the challenges of the Kosovo Police and make improvement in their well-being”, he said.
According to him, police officials are facing high risk in the northern part of the country, and the failure to investigate risk additions is unfair and that it has increased discontent, leading to 40 voluntary resignations, even for other causes.
“Even limiting other extensions, then reducing the work experience from 0.5 to 0.5, for the first 15 years of work experience, all of these have affected. As long as we've had increases in the basic wage with Kosovo police, we don't have an increase in wages, we don't have a net increase, what the police take. It's not growth, and that's what's growing dissatisfaction with all employees in the Kosovo police. As a result, we have voluntary resignations that this is continuing is not only this year's voluntary resignation, we have had each year. As for information somewhere from the police formation and so far we have over 2 200 voluntary resignations, and this year so far we have 40 voluntary resignations, which is a very bad signal. If it really goes on like this, we'll be without professionals. According to the demands of members of the police and their frustrations, we will begin with union steps”.
It explains that four months have taken place for police officials have not been executed additional risk. Zeqiri said the reasoning by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Finance has been that they have not yet made estimates of additions, which he claims is unacceptable reasoning.
The “is the fourth month since the implementation of the new wage law that the surplus is not executed on police officials and another addition to the civilian staff. Disgusting has been expressed since early February, when payments were made with the new wage law and no executions of surplus surpluses have been made. So in general it has been a huge disappointment and now four months passed, and that additional addition is still not being executed despite demands”, he said.
The only concern given even through media by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Finance is that they still haven't been able to find that way of setting, or as they have said they haven't been able to calculate these additions for me. For us, union is extremely unreasonable and extremely unacceptable. This is definitely and logically cannot be guessed how this is possible. We've been waiting so far, we don't have any concrete answers. The only response is that these guys have already started, someone from the Ministry of Finance, to compare with the state of the region how they have it. It's all better than we have. We didn't ask for any more than the extra risk”, he said.
