K Institute Director IPRED, Lulzim Peci, has said the situation in the country's north cannot be calmed down only with the resignation of mayors.
They should resign not only the mayors but also assemblies. The problem is deeper than seen, this should be a Kosovo political decision because the deputy and mayors of municipalities are both VV and PDK political parties, Peci said.
Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani has confirmed that Kosovo is ready to organise new elections in the northern part of Kosovo. French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz made that request.
Also, Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti, in a conversation with Deputy Council for National Security in the Biden administration, Jonathan Finer, has said that for the escalation of the situation, the violence supported by the Belgrade-backed gangs must be put to an end until the new elections. /21
