Kosovo is like Jerusalem, Kosovo is a holy place for all those who pray and have faith. Muslim brothers today have Bayram's holiday, from which I wish them” he said in front of Serbian citizens during the first liturgy.
He counted all Orthodox temples until he said they were here at their house. We know who we are and what we are here. Here we know where we came from and why we are here. This is our home. Here I repeat to myself and remind all the brothers and sisters, all the people in the world that we are here at our house and our hearth. Here we are, everywhere else we are strangers”, pointed out Porphire.
Over the years, Vidovdan is organised on June 28th in Gazimestan.
But the diocese of the Rash-Prizren has decided this week that Vidovdan's manifestation will be organised at the Gracanica Monastery and not in Gazimestan, as it has been done so far. This diocese has reasoned with “the current security situation”. It has also revealed that it will seek protection from KFOR, because “does not trust Kosovo Police”.
Meanwhile Tuesday, Kosovo Police have announced they have stepped up security measures for the Kurban Bajram and Vidovdan holiday, while publishing a series of measures for these holidays to be marked without incident.
Police have announced that one of the measures is to close access to the town of Gracanica.
Vidovdan's <x0Festa is held in Gracanica starting at 7: 00 a.m.), so it will temporarily suspend the flow of vehicles at the entrances of the Gracanica municipality, specifically at the entrance of the Magamor village and on the other hand at the entrance of the Veternik neighbourhood, where vehicles will be reoriented on alternative roads until the end of Vidovni's <x> festival, the Police report said.
