Remains of Titan submarine have been discovered near the legendary Titanic ship, including parts of the back cover and landing legs, according to diving expert David Mernes.
A multinational search-saving team was on the way to sea research to find the missing Titan submarine, which transported five tourists.
The submarine was launched Sunday toward the ruins of Titanic, but then lost contact with the support ship just an hour and 45 minutes after leaving.
The situation is very critical, since the submarine is suspected to be out of oxygen supplies.
The Titan submarine, which is operated by the American company OceanGate, set off on a journey to the sunken Titanic in the Atlantic Ocean at 8: 00 a.m. on Sunday local times.
However, it lost contact with the support ship just two hours after leaving for the Titanic.
The Oceanate has issued a statement saying they believe the Titan diver's passengers are the catastrophicly lost “”, CNN and the BBC report.
The statement states: “Now we believe that our CEO Stockton Rush, Shahzada Dawood and his son Suleman Dawood, Hamish Harding and Paul-Henri Nargeolet, unfortunately lost”.
And diving expert David Meerns has confirmed that remains associated with the Titan submarine have been discovered in research near the legendary Titanic ship.
According to him, among the remains found are pieces of the back cover and feet of the Titan submarine landing.
Rescue teams are still in the race with time to find and rescue passengers locked inside the missing submarine.
Following research into the missing Titan submarine, the Oceangate company has confirmed that the submarine had 96 hours of oxygen supplies at the moment of departure. According to this, supplies were completed Thursday morning.
However, experts have stressed that extending oxygen supplies depends on some factors, including the level of electricity available on submarines and the calm of passengers aboard.
In a report published Wednesday, US Coast Guard reported that Canadian planes have heard underwater noises in the research area. In response, rescue search teams have issued some research devices in the area where the noises were heard.
However, officials have indicated that detected noises may not have been linked to the Titan submarine.
Captain of the Coast Guard, Jamie Frederick, at a news conference held Wednesday, has declared: “When you're among the search-saving teams, you always have hope. As far as noises are concerned, we don't know what exactly they are”.
The situation continues to be unclear, and rescue teams continue their search in hopes of finding the Titan submarine and its missing passengers.
Frederick added that the analysis of data received from sonar buoys “is unclear”.
Parts of the shipwreck of the Titanic are 3 thousand - 810 - foot [310 m] deep in the sea, over 40 miles [640 km] south of Newfundland, Canada. And passengers in Titan had paid $250,000 each for the expedition.
