Political analyst Agon Maliqi has discussed the Drift ʹstitut of the majority Serbian Communist Association in Kosovo, which Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama proposed Thursday.
He has stressed that this proposal stems from Albania's seriousness and responsibility as country NATO, believing Rama has intervened in this way because of his conviction that non-actions in Kosovo could have major consequences.
I think most of us have been surprised, but this illustrates the seriousness of the situation. We must remember that Albania is country NATO, has a responsibility and expectation by international allies and partners to play a role in the situation in the north. So far it has maintained a kind of distance and respected Kosovo to lead this process”, he has said.
Maliqi has estimated that Prime Minister Rama would not carry out this action without knowing the consequences that could happen.
He has said that Albania has continued communication with NATO and has a responsibility towards international allies and partners.
So starting with the Government, which has been failing to bring a draft of Association, at the same time the opposition, which probably out of fear of political reactions as to whether it is coming up against the prime minister is silent. And I think Rama has taken this initiative to circulate a document that we can talk about”, he has declared.
Maliqi has also estimated that Rama has taken this action based on reliable information and has seen it necessary to get Kosovo away from political stalemate.
In conclusion, Maliqi has stressed that the main concern is the war in Ukraine and the desire to prevent escalation of conflict. He has said that even Albania sees in this context its intervention in the issue of the Association station.
