Through a Facebook post, he said the meeting in question took place to find a solution to the situation that is taking place in the north of the country following last days' protests.

“We requested the immediate escalation of the situation, restoring calm, and the parties returning to their efforts to normalise reports within the EU facilitated dialogue”, Lajcak has said.

Among other things, he has added that he met with NATO Assistant Secretary General for Operations Thomas Goffus, who said he tried to coordinate for possible steps that should be taken to reduce tensions.

Lajcak has also stated that he has returned to Brussels today after completing his presentation at the “Globsec” forum in Bratislava, Slovenia.

The EU envoy said his participation this year was overshadowed by events in northern Kosovo, and <x0 violence resulting in injuries to several KFOR troops, citizens, media and law enforcement officials”.

” As a result, I devoted most of my time at the conference to close co-ordination with our partners and monitoring the situation on the ground”.

“The events in northern Kosovo did not go unnoticed by the media, so I provided several interviews for different international media”, Lajcak said.
