Prime Minister Albin Kurti has written today that Kosovo police in co-operation with AKI have managed to prevent a terrorist attack by discovering a car loaded with weapons and military ammunition.
Kurti says the picture of this terrorist organisation is clear, citing Belgrade's state-owned license and Serbian-owned weapons.
The head of government says Serbia is clearly positioned for escalation of the situation, saying that following aggression with the kidnapping of 3 police currently Serbia has gone a step further, the step of organising terrorist attacks.
Full response:
Last night, Kosovo Police (PK) in co-operation with the Kosovo Intelligence Agency (AKI) have prevented a terrorist attack by detecting in Zvecan, 100m near the Communist object, a car with many weapons, ammunition and various military equipment.
The Panorama of this terrorist organisation is clear: Belgrade licensed cars, owned by Serbia's state railway company; Serbia's full-made weapons, among them hand grenades produced in 2021, such as used in the May 29th 2023 attack in Zvecan against KFOR soldiers; vests with inscriptions of Russian, Serbian units; and logos of identifying signs of the organisation <x0Srna Brigades”, as well as explosive tools used earlier used by criminal formation <2M> The large quantity of weapons found indicate the size of the planned action and the prevented consequences.
Serbia is clearly positioned for escalation of the situation. In addition to the aggression Serbia has undertaken against the Republic of Kosovo by kidnapping 3 Kosovo Police officials within our territory on 14 June 2023, that combating the judicial and constitutional order of the Republic of Kosovo has taken a step further with the organisation of terrorist attacks.
I am grateful to the KP and AKI for the work they are doing all this time in maintaining legitimacy and constitutionality and in preventing crime and terrorism in that part of the Republic of Kosovo.
