I had a phone call with European Commission Vice President Mr. Borrell about the situation in the north after municipal elections yesterday at 12 p.m. Yesterday afternoon I was in constant communication with EU representative for the Balkans Lajcak. With Mr. Borrell and the friendly QUIN countries today, I have expressed commitment to the escalation of the situation in the north and the normalisation of relations with Serbia. Rule of law in four municipalities in northern Kosovo, the 29 May transition of violent groups is immediately withdrawn from Kosovo territory. The presence of police forces in three municipal facilities will be reduced in line with circumstances Kosovo Police, KFOR and EULEX will conduct joint assessments of the security environment. The government will be co-ordinated with all operations and will announce new elections in the north. Kosovo and Serbia return immediately to the dialogue in Brussels. As I pointed out, and as the chronology of developments since November 5th of last year, our decisions are not the source of the transition to northern Kosovo”, Kurti said. /Periscopi
