Kupchan: America determined that Kosovo and Serbia to return to dialogue

Former European President Barack Obama's former adviser for Europe, Kupchan has declared that matching the position strengthens the American position expressed on Kosovo-Serbia dialogue.
The “sends a clear message about the determination of the United States to turn Pristina and Belgrade into constructive dialogue and implement the Ohrid Agreement”, he has said of the Voice of America, the Express broadcast.
During yesterday's day, eight democratic senators and republics have asked the US president to prioritize the worsening crisis in northern Kosovo.
They have proposed that the US exert diplomatic pressure in order to end tensions between the two states.
Responding to this letter, the National Security Council has announced that the US government administration shares concerns similar to Congress about increased tensions in northern Kosovo.
“We have clearly given clear indicators that normalising relations, participating in democratic processes and respecting rule of law will contribute to stability and security in northern Kosovo”, is said in a response to the White House.
Kupchan has estimated that this stance of the American state makes clear to leaders in Kosovo and Serbia that their lack of co-ordination will affect their relations with the US.
