Democratic Party of Kosovo Chairman Memli Krasniqi has demanded a more active role from the government and the prime minister, even through co-operation with international partners, for the quick release of three police officials arrested by Serbia, Rifat Zeka, Becir Sefa and Shemsi Mustafa.
The kidnapping of our three police officials within Kosovo's territory has taken place five days today by Serb forces. For five days, we have no information on their state of health, their treatment by Serbian authorities, and, unfortunately, still no visit to them. While Serbia and Vucinqi are refusing to release our police officers and illegally are being held in custody, on the other hand, the prime minister and government are keeping us in darkness over their situation”, Krasniqi wrote.
I'm looking for the Government to play a much more active and responsible role in the return home of Rifat Zeka, Becir Sefa and Shemsi Mustaf. Above all, I ask the prime minister to overcome his personal resentments and to enhance co-operation and co-ordination with our international partners as the fastest and efficient way to release them”, he has said.
Zeka, Sefa and Mustafa were arrested on 14 June by Serbian forces, and from that day on they are in custody in Serbia. /Periscopi/
