KFOR has stressed that it remains vigilant and fully capable of fulfilling its mandate to ensure a safe environment and freedom of movement for all communities in Kosovo, according to 1999 Resolution 1244.
“KFOR continues to support EU facilitated dialogue as the only means to achieve an irreversible and sustainable stability and to ease tensions in northern Kosovo”, the KFOR communiqué says.
This mission has stressed that close contact and co-ordination with all local and international co-ordinators, including representatives of institutions in Kosovo, UNMIK, the OSCE, EULEX and Serbia's Chief of Defence.
“KFOR welcomes all multinational efforts undertaken to bring the two sides back to the negotiating table and invites all sides to join the deceleration and refrain from provocative actions that oppose the interests of all people in Kosovo”, this mission has said further.
We remember that shortly before midnight, strangers threw a hand grenade near the northern Mitrovica municipality facility, which resulted in two cars being damaged.
