Kosovo has no helicopter available in case of any crisis. Such do not belong to the State in the field of protection, security, or health. As a result, most services are estimated to be weaker and that institutions' needs are not met.
The opposition says the challenge is the cost, which includes preparing pilots, maintenance and other units. And they disagree with each other about the authority, because they say that it is simple. They also pledge that the government will soon see in which areas it needs helicopter purchase.
Democratic League of Kosovo MP Anton Chuni claims some institutions would have to own helicopters for various services.
The former defence minister stresses that the issue of preparing quarts, buying helicopters and maintaining them remains a challenge.
Meanwhile, majority deputy Mefail Bajqinovci emphasises that training of personnel to engage in this area is simple.
The parliamentary majority MP adds that the executive is committed to buying weapons and military equipment. He even says he believes that soon the government will see in which field helicopter buying is needed.
However, no response was given to the Kosovo government.
Former Defence Minister Anton Chun states that as a result of the lack of helicopters, most of the services are at the lowest level.
Former Kosovo Security Forces Commander Kadri Kastrati estimates helicopters are very necessary, but it is not time for their purchase.
Kosovo has no competence and is not responsible for its airspace. In line with UN Security Council Resolution 1244 and the 1999 military technical agreement, but even current laws, the KFOR mission is responsible for the security of Kosovo's airspace. /kp
