The 23-year-old Russian citizen had gone swimming in the waters outside his resort near the town of Hurghada, when a shark came under water and caught him.
The attack forced Egyptian authorities to close a 74km stretch of the coastline, announcing it will stay out of borders until Sunday.
Officials from the Russian Consulate in Hurghada identified the man as a Russian citizen but did not name him.
An almost a minute-long video that seems to be of the shark's brutal attack shows man being suddenly dragged into the water.
For as long as I can remember sharp behind and sharp attacks have been my main area of focus and experience when it comes to blend. For me this is the most detailed video documentation of a fatal ~Skarkattack ever caught.
