The heavy condition of Péja flooding affects families and businesses

Two victims and major material damage were caused by the flooding of Saturday in Pec. Mother and son lost their lives tragicly by the heavy rain that was buried Monday.

The heavy rain in Pec has left many major material damage in public and private property.

Families and water - flooded businesses are in serious condition.

The most affected by heavy rainfall in this municipality has been “Aslan smiling”, in which many homes and businesses were damaged.

Residents and businesses in this neighborhood, affected by the flooding, are seeking from the bodies responsible for taking steps as soon as possible, and the toy is in aid.

Valentina Dreshai Hajrizi, owner of a business, tells Kosovo that the damages are too big, as they have been supplied with goods for the Kurban Bajrami holiday.

Velentina is seeking the assistance of responsible institutions, as she has missed nothing of the goods.

She adds that the damage is huge, but they still do not know the value.

The “Dations are very large, but we still can't stand the value of days because we've been supplied to Bajram. No one has yet come (from institutions) ...Days were from municipalities and ministries... they promised, but now we're waiting... This is the business that we support family with, and we expect help, so that the institutions can undertake something as soon as possible... because nothing has saved”, Hajriz says.

The floods have also caused serious damage at home, and other residents of the neighborhood say.

The resident, Niman Kurtaj, is expressed in disappointment by state institutions that have so far not visited to offer assistance.

Among other things, Kurtaj says that they have been forced to stay with some relatives, since he feels that the currently uninhabited home.

Kurtaj says that so far, the value of damages has totaled over 600,000 euros.

I've bought everything from Germany, only the heating system that's damaged is at least 25 thousand euros... That's what I've estimated is 60 thousand euros... neither has anyone been asking me if we're alive, whether you're drowning. With the pump and generator, I'm from yesterday. The water has entered my waiting room... and we're looking for help, where I'm going to get 60 thousand euros to buy this stuff”, he says.

According to him, everything on the lower floor of the house has been damaged by heavy rainfall.

The woman is gone to the relatives... we have no power or anything, they're all damaged. ...In a couple of months here no one can come in, they're all damaged, without fixing it all, we don't have a place to live”, Kurtaj says.

Even the resident, Muhamet Ahma, until he tells of the damage done, wishes that this situation will never happen to anyone again.

This municipality has been visited by “KSF has once been for help. The damage is from the refrigerator of almost everything that's been in the basement... the communita promises everyone that it's going to help, but as long as we're not aware... it's unpredictable to see a lot of water as it happened here, but don't let anyone experience what we've experienced in”

A 26-year-old woman and her five-year-old son died tragicly as a result of the floods on June 24th.

The Paya Community in honor of the victims has proclaimed Monday mourning day. Where with this decision, all the institutional commitments ahead of the day were suspended. /kp
