German government spokesman Stephen Hebelstreet indicated in Berlin that under the second European Political Community summit, which is held in Moldova's capital, Chisinau, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz will hold talks together with French President Macron with Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani and President Vuciq for the current situation in Kosovo's north.
Scholz and Macron also hold talks with President Vuciq, who prior to the summit in Chisinau, has said that the first step towards reducing tensions would be to withdraw “the election of mayors” of municipalities from the north.
He called on Kosovo authorities to withdraw mayors. That step would be the most powerful step, Vuciq sought.
French President Emmanuel Macron, under the meeting in Chisinau, has called holding local elections in the north a mistake. Macron has said he has a clear responsibility of Kosovo authorities for the current situation.
