German newspaper “Bild” will replace employees with artificial intelligence

According to news in German media, employees of the newspaper “Bold” are said to be dismissed because of the possibilities of artificial intelligence.
Consequently, the number of regional editions of the newspaper “wild” will drop from 18 to 12. On the other hand, smaller local newspapers will be completely closed and the leadership level will be reduced.
Axel Springer Executive Director Mathias Döpfner stated in an email to employees 4 months ago that on January 1st 2024, the Axel Springer Group strategy will be “digitally” or “first digital, then printed”.
The report says that Döpfner said that his colleagues who have duties will be replaced by artificial intelligence and processes in the digital world or who cannot find themselves in this new order with their existing skills.
