“Take place soon for the extension of the situation in Kosovo”, next day of the EU summit continues

In Brussels, the summit of European Union countries' leaders is continuing, on which, among other things, tensions are in reports between Kosovo and Serbia. This is also discussed on the first day of the summit, first at a joint meeting EU leaders had with [the] secretary.
This is also discussed on the first day of the summit, first at a joint meeting EU leaders had with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, and then at the meeting of EU heads of states or governments.
“was a very dynamic discussion and many participants spoke on the subject. But the main message was that it must be done quickly for the extension of the situation, and these [actions] must be made by both sides“, an EU official said, speaking to reporters Friday morning, when even the second day of the summit began.
During the day, it is also expected to be debated about the text of the conclusions, which the text is prepared for approval. In this text, among other things, there is one paragraph dedicated to Kosovo and Serbia, as well as another to European Union enlargement.
However, the problem with the conclusions is that they are all in a document and it is possible that because of the differences between EU countries on the issue of migration, they will not be approved at all on other topics.
EU leaders have tried until after midnight to achieve reconciliation for the text, but Hungary and Poland have blocked the approval of the part dealing with EU migration management.
EU officials hope a compromise will be reached on Friday and conclusions approved. The alternative option also remains their approval in the form of “Presidency Consultations“, not as the “Conclusions of the European Council”.
In the text of conclusions dedicated to EU enlargement, support for the integration of the countries of the Western Balkan region into the EU is expected to be expressed. While in part of the conclusions dedicated to Kosovo and Serbia, both countries are expected to take immediate steps to reduce tensions.
The European Council condemns the recent incidents in northern Kosovo and calls for immediate extension of the situation, given key elements that have already emerged from the European Union on June 3rd, 2023”, says Radio Free Europe.
“Pales should create conditions for early elections in all four municipalities in northern Kosovo. Failure to reduce tensions will have negative” consequences, added further to the text of conclusions.
The “is essential to continuing the EU facilitated dialogue, led by the high representative, and quick implementation of the Agreement on the road to normalisation and implementation of Anex is necessary. This includes the establishment of the Association/Unibility of Serb majority municipalities“, the text notes.
