Through an official announcement, the EU has demanded that the situation be retired and the elected mayors of four municipalities in the north do the job in alternative objects, not municipal ones.

The EU has asked Kosovo to withdraw the rule forces, which are close to municipal objects, while also voicing concern for the Serbian Army's readiness.

The European Union is ready to implement decisive measures. Failure to relax the situation will lead to negative consequences. We expect Kosovo to act in a non-scale manner and immediately suspend police operations in the vicinity of municipal buildings in northern Kosovo. Mayors of municipalities must temporarily carry out their duties on various objects from the” 50, reportedly in EU communiqué.

The EU has called on Kosovo and Serbia to immediately “and unconditionally take measures to expand the situation, prevent the use of divisive rhetoric and refrain from any further uncoordinated action”.

The early “elections must be announced as soon as possible in all four municipalities and organised in a fully comprehensive manner. We expect Kosovo Serbs to participate in these elections”, the communiqué says.

The EU has also cited Serbian President Aleksandar Vuciq's order for the military to increase the state of readiness.

“We express concern for the state of highest alert of the Serbian Armed Forces”, said further in the EU communiqué.

They have also called for implementation of the basic agreement and Anex, with particular emphasis on Association, saying that the foundation should begin without delay and without further preconditions.

The European Union expects Kosovo and Serbia to act responsibly and immediately engage in EU-mediated Dialogue to find a sustainable solution to the situation in northern Kosovo that guarantees security, security and participation democracy for all citizens and paves the way for implementation of the Road Agreement towards Normalisation and its Annex. This includes starting without any further delay or preconditions of work for establishing the Association/United Communities with the Serbian Majority”, the communique said. /Reporter
